Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
