The loved ones of teens unaccounted for after a devastating fire at a establishment in a Switzerland's alpine town are enduring an agonising period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for clues about their family members via social media.

The fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of January 1st. Circulated images show the ceiling igniting as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Emergency services have warned that it could take considerable time to identify the fatalities of the fire, which resulted in the death of numerous partygoers and hurt another 119. Authorities stated on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with efforts ongoing to name the remaining few.

In the waiting period, loved ones have been taking to the internet to appeal for information about their loved ones who were at the bar that night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are not yet determined, according to an appeal from his family.

The resident of Lutry near the city, told a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in the capital, but could not find him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, an ordeal. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. Words cannot describe it," she stated.

She explained that some of his companions had been discovered with injuries covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they experienced a terrifying ordeal."

The Italian foreign ministry has said that a number of of its young people are still unaccounted for.

Included in that group is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old junior golfer, originally from Genoa but now living in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has stated that he is deceased, without directly referencing the tragedy, paying tribute to a "young athlete who carried with him dedication and authentic values."

His parent, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An representative has indicated that a formal confirmation of his death is not yet.
