Close to 90 Flights Connected to Jeffrey Epstein Allegedly Landed at or Took Off from British Airports
Analysis has identified that close to 90 aircraft journeys linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein are said to have touched down at and left UK airports, with some reportedly having onboard women from the UK who allege they were abused by the found guilty child sex offender.
Flight Logs Reveal Trail of Travel
The travel manifests were among a trove of court documents and papers released by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been disclosed over the past year. The analysis identified 87 aircraft movements tied to Epstein – encompassing many that were hitherto undisclosed – landing or taking off from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Onboard Individuals and After Guilty Verdict Flights
Unidentified women were listed among the passengers flying to and from the UK. Crucially, 15 of these British airport journeys took place following Epstein’s 2008 guilty verdict for soliciting sex from a child.
“It was ‘astonishing’ that there had never been a ‘full-scale UK investigation’ into his operations in the country,” said American attorneys acting for hundreds of Epstein survivors.
UK Survivors and Legal Proceedings
Evidence from one of the British victims was instrumental in convicting Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. Yet, that individual has not received any contact by police in the UK, as stated by her attorney based in Florida.
In a statement, the Metropolitan police said they had “not been provided with any new evidence that would support reopening the inquiry.” They noted, “Should fresh and pertinent information be presented to us, encompassing any arising from the disclosure of material in the US, we will evaluate it.”
Ongoing Document Release and Judicial Decisions
Proposed legislation to make public every document held by the American government in relation to Epstein was approved by the US Congress last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to comply. A vast number of documents are anticipated to be released.
Separately, a federal judge ordered last week that the DOJ could make public evidence from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s close friend, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence over the charges.
