Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
