American-Palestinian Teenager Released Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Detention

An Palestinian-American teenager who spent 270 days in Israeli detention without charge gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 at the time of his arrest in February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

United States authorities applauded the news of Mohammed's release.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, requesting additional efforts to release him.

The father, with four children operating an ice cream shop from Florida, previously said his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

There were no visits nor direct contact following the detention, learning information solely about his son's condition through judicial records.

He stayed lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary on the West Bank.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities including killings.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, and international organizations, report instances of mistreatment and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, the uncle stated relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin Sayfollah Musallet.
